A move-out cleaning estimate starts with the condition and handover requirements of the empty home. Use your own labor plan and costs to quote the agreed work, with appliance interiors and other extras made explicit.
This page helps you plan the quote. The house cleaning quote calculator on the homepage is where you enter your own figures. Opening it keeps your current draft; it does not apply these example inputs.
Confirm the property is ready for move-out cleaning
Check that belongings are removed and water and electricity are available. Record access and landlord requirements before estimating. If the home is occupied or utilities are unavailable, use a manual assessment and document how the work will be carried out.
Separate included interiors from paid extras
The editable Move-out starting scope includes detailed base tasks and accessible empty cabinet interiors. Oven and refrigerator interiors remain separate extras. Leftover belongings, high-access work and special contamination require their own assessment. Do not charge for cabinet interiors twice.
Use assessed hours for the actual turnover
The area-based beta preset is an editable planning assumption, not a measured move-out productivity rate. Walk through the property, review buildup and adjust hours. Crew size changes approximate time on site; it does not multiply total person-hour labor cost again.
Check these details before you quote
- Empty rooms and accessible surfaces
- Working water, power and agreed entry arrangements
- Landlord handover requirements recorded
- Empty cabinet interiors included only once
- Oven, fridge and leftover belongings assessed separately
Compare the Standard, Deep and Move-out cleaning checklists to agree the tasks. Changing a checklist does not automatically change labor hours; review your plan too.
A worked move-out estimate
Hypothetical empty-home Move-out job with working utilities: six assessed base person-hours, two cleaners, $22 labor plus $3 employer cost per hour, $30 per-visit expenses, and one oven extra taking 0.5 person-hours plus $5 direct cost. Target margin 30%, minimum margin 20%, minimum visit price $100. Tax is not assessed.
These are fictional inputs, not market prices, recommended wages or verified cleaning durations.
| Item | One-time visit |
|---|---|
| Total person-hours | 6.50 |
| Total entered cost | $197.50 |
| Price at target margin, before discount | $282.15 |
| Protected minimum | $246.88 |
| Suggested price before tax | $282.15 |
| Estimated job profit after entered costs | $84.65 |
Price at target margin = entered cost ÷ (1 − target margin), rounded up to a cent. The protected minimum is the higher of the minimum visit price and cost ÷ (1 − minimum margin). For recurring maintenance, the base discount applies before the minimum check. No final price override is used here.
On small screens, swipe wide tables to compare amounts. Enter your verified tax rate and taxable basis separately for a real quote. Blank tax means not assessed. Read the labor cost and profit margin guide for the full calculation.
Questions before sending the estimate
Does a move-out quote include inside the oven and refrigerator?
Not automatically. In this starting scope, those interiors are separately priced extras. Empty cabinet interiors are included in Move-out base work when selected. Agree the final checklist with the customer.
Can the estimate guarantee a security deposit refund?
No. The quote describes agreed cleaning work and price. It does not guarantee a landlord decision, inspection outcome or deposit refund.
What if belongings remain or the property has no working utilities?
Use manual labor planning, assess the job and record the scope and arrangements. The ordinary empty-home reference does not estimate those conditions for you.
Turn the plan into a customer quote
Enter the job and labor plan, add costs and extras, then review the suggested price. Add optional company and customer details and confirm your final amount before downloading a PDF or text file. Private costs and notes stay out of the customer output. See how to prepare a cleaning estimate PDF.
