A recurring cleaning quote needs two plans: the work needed to establish the home, and the maintenance you agree to repeat. Quotewise calculates each visit separately so a lower ongoing price still accounts for your time and business expenses.
This page helps you plan the quote. The house cleaning quote calculator on the homepage is where you enter your own figures. Opening it keeps your current draft; it does not apply these example inputs.
Build the first-visit scope before offering a regular price
Choose Standard or Deep for the first recurring clean. Inspect buildup, access and the rooms to include. A first Deep clean can take more labor than later maintenance; enter your assessed time rather than assuming every home needs the same reduction.
Calculate the cost of each maintenance visit
Ongoing visits use an editable Standard scope. Review person-hours and per-visit supplies, travel and overhead. Use separate ongoing costs when they differ. Weekly, every-two-week and monthly schedules describe frequency; the amounts shown are per visit, not a monthly subscription bill.
Apply recurring discounts without hiding costs
An ongoing discount reduces the base portion at your target margin, including base labor and per-visit expenses. It does not discount extras. The minimum visit price and minimum margin can limit the reduction. Compare the final suggested amounts rather than promising a percentage saving before checking the floor.
Check these details before you quote
- First-visit Standard or Deep scope and assessed labor
- Ongoing Standard tasks and expected person-hours
- Access, visit frequency and per-visit expenses
- Extras marked first-only or every visit
- Separate final prices, tax assessment and quote validity
Compare the Standard, Deep and Move-out cleaning checklists to agree the tasks. Changing a checklist does not automatically change labor hours; review your plan too.
A worked recurring estimate
Hypothetical Standard service every two weeks: four first-visit person-hours and two ongoing person-hours, $22 labor plus $3 employer cost per hour, and $30 per-visit expenses. Target margin is 30%, minimum margin 20%, minimum visit price $100 and ongoing base discount 10%. No extras; tax is not assessed.
These are fictional inputs, not market prices, recommended wages or verified cleaning durations.
| Item | First visit | Ongoing visit |
|---|---|---|
| Total person-hours | 4.00 | 2.00 |
| Total entered cost | $130.00 | $80.00 |
| Price at target margin, before discount | $185.72 | $114.29 |
| Protected minimum | $162.50 | $100.00 |
| Suggested price before tax | $185.72 | $102.86 |
| Estimated job profit after entered costs | $55.72 | $22.86 |
Price at target margin = entered cost ÷ (1 − target margin), rounded up to a cent. The protected minimum is the higher of the minimum visit price and cost ÷ (1 − minimum margin). For recurring maintenance, the base discount applies before the minimum check. No final price override is used here.
On small screens, swipe wide tables to compare amounts. Enter your verified tax rate and taxable basis separately for a real quote. Blank tax means not assessed. Read the labor cost and profit margin guide for the full calculation.
Questions before sending the estimate
Should I divide the first clean price by the number of monthly visits?
No. Assess each visit independently. Later maintenance can have a different scope and labor plan, while travel and other visit expenses still occur. The calculator displays per-visit prices.
Can a first-visit extra be left out of the ongoing price?
Yes. In Extra services, leave that item as first-visit only. Select every visit only for work you agree to repeat. Do not count the same work in base labor and extra labor.
Can I use recurring pricing for move-out turnovers?
Move-out is a one-time service in this workflow. Repeating rental turnovers need separately assessed quotes for each job rather than ordinary recurring residential maintenance.
Turn the plan into a customer quote
Enter the job and labor plan, add costs and extras, then review the suggested price. Add optional company and customer details and confirm your final amount before downloading a PDF or text file. Private costs and notes stay out of the customer output. See how to prepare a cleaning estimate PDF.
